Pharmacists Care No Matter Where.

Yesterday I made this picture; I used various pictures found on Google and I merged them up into this one. What do you think? Do you like it?

It tells a lot about me. I’m still an undergraduate student who doesn’t really know where he will employ or where his life journey will lead him. I want to help people I want to be there for them but I wouldn’t for sure reject an offer to work in some of pharmaceutical companies listed above. However, I cannot shake the feeling that a sole goal of pharmaceutical companies is to gain more money nowadays. Of course there should be profit but new researches shouldn’t be driven by lust for power and money.

Clinical pharmacy, that’s it in my opinion. This year we had an option to choose between two subjects: industrial pharmacy or clinical pharmacy. I was told by older colleagues that the first one is easier to pass than the second one. I don’t trust those rumours because they have turned out not to be true till now. Okay, I admit, there’s a lot to learn but so what? I’m not afraid of sitting in front of a desk for an hour or two longer especially if a thing really interests me. So, my plan for the future is to get a specialization from this field either there or abroad. The second option is I believe better than the first one because in my country a role of a clinical pharmacist isn’t well established yet but the things are changing!

On the other hand, I would be honoured if I got a chance to work in a pharmaceutical company like Eli Lilly. I believe that I would contribute to the team’s success and I’m sure that together we would discover something new, something which will change our lives completely. Working for that company would really be a challenge. Living in the States would be a necessity but I’d love that very much.

A lot of dreams, a lot of things that have a potential to be realized. I’m very curious where I will be taken or what decisions I will make.

And now, a question for you, my dear readers: What were/are your dreams and is the work you do a realization of your dreams? Thanks for the answers and comments!!

  1. In 1981 I chose Pharmacy as my carrer because I wanted the ability to travel wherever I wanted to go to get a job. Thirtytwo years later, I am practicing pharmacy in the town that I grew up in as a clinical community pharmacist. I help people every day and make a difference! I think it is the greatest profession in the world. To me, pharmacy is the link between hospitals, doctors, dentists, nurses and patients. We see the patient and help them understand what they are doing and make darn sure they understand how they are going to get there.

  2. My Dream was to become a doctor. Lure of white coat and the scent of hospital was the attraction. Am i living the dream? Well i am sitting at home, studying! Away from hospital, without the white coat. But i guess journey is the reward.
Let us know which company u land up. If i were you i would choose ElliLilly (coz name sounds fancy, lolz) oh and coz of insulin too (to some extent). Good luck Lucas.

    • Thank you very much, colleague! I prefer Eli Lilly too I don’t know why, I just do. However, I think I won’t work in any of those companies listed but who knows. You know, my dream is to become clinical pharmacist. Drug interactions, dosage modifications, consulting with doctor, talking to patients,… that’s the thing!
